Ingredients

1 loaf of brioche or challah bread

4 large eggs

1 cup milk (whole or any variety)

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

2 tablespoons sugar

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup butter, melted

1/2 cup sugar (for coating)

1 tablespoon ground cinnamon (for coating)

Maple syrup or fruit preserves for serving

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Prepare the Bread: Slice the loaf of bread into 1-inch thick sticks. Set aside.

Make the Egg Mixture: In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, sugar, and salt until fully combined.

Coat the Bread Sticks: Dip each bread stick into the egg mixture, allowing it to soak for a few seconds, then remove and let any excess drip off. Place the soaked sticks onto the lined baking sheet.

Melt the Butter: Drizzle the melted butter over the coated bread sticks.

Create Cinnamon Sugar Mixture: In a separate small bowl, combine the sugar and ground cinnamon. Sprinkle this mixture generously over the sticks.

Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 15–20 minutes, or until the sticks are golden brown and slightly crisp.

Serve: Remove from the oven and allow to cool slightly. Serve warm with maple syrup or fruit preserves for dipping.
