Ingredients

4 large eggs

1 cup whole milk

1 cup all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/4 cup unsalted butter (melted)

Powdered sugar (for dusting)

Fresh lemon juice or maple syrup (for serving)

Seasonal fruits (e.g., berries, apples, or bananas) for topping

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Place a 9x13 inch baking dish in the oven to heat up while you prepare the batter.

Blend the Batter: In a blender, combine the eggs, milk, flour, vanilla extract, salt, and melted butter. Blend on medium-high speed until the mixture is smooth and frothy, about 20-30 seconds.

Prepare the Baking Dish: Once the oven is hot, carefully remove the baking dish from the oven (use oven mitts!). Quickly pour the remaining melted butter into the dish, tilting it to coat the bottom evenly.

Pour the Batter: Immediately pour the batter into the hot baking dish over the melted butter.

Bake: Return the dish to the oven and bake for 20-25 minutes or until the pancake is puffed up and golden brown around the edges.

Serve: Remove from the oven and let it rest for a minute. Dust generously with powdered sugar and squeeze fresh lemon juice or drizzle with maple syrup over the top. Add your choice of seasonal fruits for extra flavor and garnish.

Enjoy: Slice the pancake into squares and serve warm. Enjoy the fluffy goodness of your baked German pancake!
