Ingredients

3 ripe bananas, mashed

1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

1 cup brown sugar

1/4 cup granulated sugar

2 large eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 cup all-purpose flour

1/2 cup cocoa powder

1 teaspoon baking soda

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional)

1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x9 inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.

Mix Dry Ingredients: In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.

Combine Wet Ingredients: In a large bowl, mix the mashed bananas and melted butter until smooth. Stir in the brown sugar and granulated sugar until well combined.

Add Eggs and Vanilla: Beat in the eggs, one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract.

Incorporate Dry Mix: Gradually add the dry flour mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined. Be careful not to over-mix.

Add Nuts and Chips: If using, fold in the chopped walnuts and chocolate chips for added texture and sweetness.

Pour and Spread: Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it out evenly.

Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs (not wet batter).

Cool: Remove from the oven and let the brownies cool in the pan for about 10-15 minutes. Then, transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Serve: Once cooled, cut into squares and serve. Enjoy your delicious Banana Bread Brownies!
