Ingredients

1 lb (450g) beef sirloin, thinly sliced

3 tablespoons oyster sauce

2 tablespoons soy sauce

1 tablespoon cornstarch

1 tablespoon vegetable oil

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 inch ginger, minced

1 red bell pepper, sliced

1 cup broccoli florets

1 medium onion, julienned

2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)

Sesame seeds (for garnish)

Cooked jasmine rice (to serve)

Instructions

Marinate the Beef: In a bowl, combine thinly sliced beef with oyster sauce, soy sauce, and cornstarch. Mix well to coat the beef evenly and let it marinate for at least 30 minutes.

Prepare the Vegetables: While the beef is marinating, prepare the vegetables by slicing the bell pepper, julienning the onion, and cutting the broccoli into florets.

Heat the Pan: In a large skillet or wok, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until shimmering.

Cook the Aromatics: Add the minced garlic and ginger to the pan, stirring constantly for about 30 seconds until fragrant.

Stir-Fry the Beef: Add the marinated beef to the skillet in a single layer. Let it sear for about 2-3 minutes without stirring, then stir-fry until the beef is browned and cooked through, about 3-5 more minutes. Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.

Stir-Fry the Vegetables: In the same skillet, add the onions, bell pepper, and broccoli. Stir-fry for 4-5 minutes until the vegetables are tender-crisp.

Combine: Return the cooked beef to the skillet with the vegetables. Toss everything together and cook for an additional 2 minutes to heat through, adding more oyster sauce or soy sauce if desired.

Serve: Remove from heat and transfer to a serving dish. Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds. Serve hot over jasmine rice.
