At the heart of this dish is fettuccine pasta, a classic choice that serves as an excellent base for creamy sauces. Its flat, wide shape allows it to hold onto the rich sauce better than thinner pasta varieties. When cooked to al dente perfection, fettuccine provides a satisfying bite that complements the creaminess of the Alfredo sauce, making each mouthful a delightful experience.

Ingredients

12 oz fettuccine pasta

2 tablespoons olive oil

2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (about 1 lb)

Salt and pepper to taste

1 cup barbecue sauce (preferably tangy)

1 cup heavy cream

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1/2 cup ranch dressing

2 cloves garlic, minced

1/2 teaspoon onion powder

1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Cook the Pasta: In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the fettuccine and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

Prepare the Chicken: While the pasta is cooking, heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Season chicken breasts with salt and pepper on both sides.

Cook Chicken: Once the skillet is hot, add the seasoned chicken breasts. Cook for about 6-7 minutes on each side or until fully cooked and golden brown. Remove from the skillet and let rest for 5 minutes before slicing.

Make the Sauce: In the same skillet, reduce heat to low and add minced garlic. Sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant. Pour in the barbecue sauce and heavy cream, stirring to combine.

Add Cheese and Ranch: Gradually stir in shredded cheddar cheese and ranch dressing. Mix until the cheese melts and the sauce is creamy. Add onion powder and smoked paprika for an extra kick.

Combine Pasta and Sauce: Toss the cooked fettuccine into the sauce and mix well until the pasta is fully coated.

Serve: Slice the rested chicken and place it on top of the creamy fettuccine. Garnish with fresh parsley for a pop of color.

Enjoy: Serve hot and enjoy your flavorful Creamy Cheddar BBQ Ranch Chicken Alfredo!
