Ingredients
  

  • 1 package puff pastry contains 2 sheets, thawed
  • 8 oz thinly sliced ham
  • 8 oz shredded cheese cheddar, Swiss, or favorite
  • 1 egg beaten for egg wash
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme optional
  • to taste salt and pepper
  • to taste sesame seeds or poppy seeds for topping

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Roll out each sheet of thawed puff pastry on a floured surface and cut into 4 equal squares.
  • Mix Dijon mustard with salt, pepper, and thyme, then spread on each pastry square.
  • Layer sliced ham over the mustard, followed by shredded cheese.
