Ingredients
  

  • 9 pieces lasagna noodles
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 pound Italian sausage
  • 2 cups ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 24 ounces marinara sauce
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • to taste salt
  • to taste black pepper

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Cook the lasagna noodles according to package directions, then drain and cool slightly.
  • In a large skillet, cook the ground beef and Italian sausage over medium heat until browned, breaking it apart as it cooks. Drain excess fat.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine ricotta cheese, egg, parsley, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Stir until creamy.
  • Spread a thin layer of marinara sauce in a 9x13 inch baking dish.
  • Layer 3 lasagna noodles, half of the ricotta mixture, half of the meat mixture, and a layer of mozzarella. Repeat the layering.
  • For the final layer, place the remaining 3 noodles, spread the rest of the marinara sauce, and top with remaining mozzarella and Parmesan.
  • Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until cheese is bubbly.
  • Allow to rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
