  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1 ½ cups granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons cream of tartar
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon ground cardamom
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup granulated sugar for rolling
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon for rolling

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Cream together the softened butter and 1 ½ cups of granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, cardamom, cinnamon, and salt.
  • Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet mixture, stirring gently until just combined.
  • Combine ½ cup of granulated sugar and 2 teaspoons of cinnamon in a small bowl for rolling.
  • Scoop portions of dough, roll into balls, and coat in the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
