  • 4 large russet potatoes thinly sliced
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 3 cloves garlic finely minced
  • 1 teaspoon fresh thyme chopped

  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter for greasing the baking dish
  • ½ teaspoon paprika optional

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9x13 inch baking dish with unsalted butter.
  • In a large mixing bowl, whisk together heavy cream, minced garlic, chopped thyme, salt, black pepper, and paprika until well combined.
  • Layer half of the sliced potatoes in the bottom of the baking dish.
  • Pour half of the creamy mixture over the potatoes, then sprinkle half of the cheddar and Parmesan cheese on top.
  • Repeat with the remaining potatoes, cream mixture, and cheeses.
  • Cover the dish tightly with aluminum foil and bake for 45 minutes.
  • Remove the foil and bake for an additional 25-30 minutes until golden brown and bubbly.
  • Let the dish rest for about 10 minutes before serving.
  • Garnish with fresh thyme before serving.
