Ingredients

For the Dough:

4 cups all-purpose flour

1 packet (2 ¼ tsp) instant yeast

½ cup warm milk (about 110°F/45°C)

¼ cup granulated sugar

½ cup unsalted butter, melted

2 large eggs

1 tsp salt

For the Filling:

2 cups peeled and diced apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp work best)

½ cup brown sugar

2 tsp ground cinnamon

¼ cup unsalted butter, softened

For the Cream Cheese Frosting:

8 oz cream cheese, softened

½ cup unsalted butter, softened

3 cups powdered sugar

1 tsp vanilla extract

2-3 tbsp milk (for desired consistency)

Instructions

Prepare the Dough: In a large mixing bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.

Add melted butter, eggs, and salt into the yeast mixture. Gradually stir in flour until a soft dough forms.

Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5-7 minutes until it’s smooth and elastic. Place it in a greased bowl, cover with a clean towel, and let it rise in a warm area for about 1 hour or until it doubles in size.

Make the Filling: In a bowl, mix diced apples, brown sugar, and cinnamon. Set aside.

Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out on a floured surface into a large rectangle, about 16x24 inches. Spread softened butter over the dough, leaving a small border on the edges.

Evenly spread the apple mixture over the buttered dough. Starting from the long side, carefully roll the dough into a tight log. Pinch the seam to seal.

Cut the log into 12 equal pieces and place them in a greased 9x13 inch baking dish. Cover with a towel and let them rise for another 30 minutes.

Bake the Rolls: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Once risen, bake the rolls in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown.

Make the Frosting: While the rolls are baking, beat together cream cheese and butter in a medium bowl until smooth. Gradually add powdered sugar, vanilla, and milk until creamy and desired consistency is reached.

Once the rolls are baked, allow them to cool for about 10 minutes before drizzling with the cream cheese frosting.

Serve warm and enjoy the irresistible combination of apple and cinnamon rolled into a delightful treat!
