Korean Ground Beef Bowl

Ingredients
  

1 lb ground beef

3 tablespoons soy sauce

1 tablespoon brown sugar

2 teaspoons sesame oil

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon fresh ginger, minced

1 tablespoon gochujang (Korean red pepper paste)

4 green onions, chopped

1 tablespoon sesame seeds

2 cups cooked jasmine rice

Optional: kimchi, for serving

Optional: sliced cucumber and carrot, for garnish

Instructions

In a large skillet, heat the sesame oil over medium heat.

    Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it apart with a spatula. Cook until browned and no longer pink, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat if necessary.

      Stir in the minced garlic and ginger. Sauté for an additional 1-2 minutes until fragrant.

        In a small bowl, mix the soy sauce, brown sugar, and gochujang until combined. Pour this sauce over the browned beef, stirring to coat.

          Cook for another 3-4 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken slightly and ensure the beef is well coated.

            Add in chopped green onions and sesame seeds, mixing them into the beef for added flavor and texture.

              Serve the savory Korean ground beef over a bed of cooked jasmine rice.

                Top with additional green onions, sesame seeds, and serve with kimchi or sliced cucumbers and carrots on the side for a refreshing crunch.
