Ingredients
  

  • 9 pieces lasagna noodles
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 2 cups ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 24 ounces marinara sauce
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and freshly cracked black pepper to taste
  • Fresh basil leaves for garnish optional

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Cook the lasagna noodles until al dente, then drain and set aside.
  • In a skillet, cook the ground beef until browned, seasoning with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.
  • In a bowl, mix ricotta cheese, egg, and a pinch of salt and pepper until smooth.
  • Spread a thin layer of marinara sauce in a baking dish.
  • Layer 3 noodles, half of the ricotta mixture, a third of the mozzarella, and marinara sauce.
  • Repeat with another 3 noodles, remaining ricotta, another third of mozzarella, and more marinara.
  • Top with the last 3 noodles, remaining marinara, mozzarella, and all the Parmesan cheese.
  • Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes, then remove foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes.
  • Let cool for 10 minutes before slicing and garnish with basil if desired.
