1 pound Italian sausage (mild or spicy, based on preference)

8 oz cream cheese, softened

1 tablespoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 tablespoon fresh chives, chopped (optional)

1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional)

Salt and pepper to taste

1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

    Cook the Sausage: In a skillet over medium heat, add the Italian sausage. Cook, breaking into small pieces, until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat if necessary.

      Mix Filling: In a mixing bowl, combine the cooked sausage, softened cream cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, and chopped chives. Mix until well blended. Season with salt and pepper to taste. If desired, fold in shredded cheddar cheese for an extra cheesy kick.

        Prepare the Crescents: On a clean surface, roll out the crescent roll dough and separate it into triangles as per the package instructions.

          Fill Crescents: Place a generous tablespoon of the sausage mixture at the wide end of each crescent triangle. Roll the triangle up towards the point, folding in the sides slightly as you go to encase the filling. Place the crescents on the prepared baking sheet.
