Ingredients

1 lb (450g) flank steak, sliced thinly against the grain

2 tablespoons vegetable oil

1 large onion, sliced

1 red bell pepper, sliced

1 green bell pepper, sliced

3 cloves garlic, minced

2 tablespoons soy sauce

1 tablespoon oyster sauce

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

1 tablespoon cornstarch

1/2 cup beef broth

1 teaspoon sesame oil (optional)

Salt and pepper, to taste

Cooked rice or noodles, for serving

Chopped green onions and sesame seeds, for garnish

Instructions

Marinate the Steak: In a bowl, combine the sliced flank steak with 1 tablespoon of soy sauce, 1 tablespoon of cornstarch, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Let it marinate for at least 15 minutes to enhance the flavor and tenderness.

Prepare the Sauce: In a small bowl, mix the remaining soy sauce, oyster sauce, Worcestershire sauce, and beef broth. Stir well and set aside.

Stir-Fry Vegetables: Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over high heat. Add the onions and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until they begin to soften. Add the sliced bell peppers and continue to stir-fry for another 3-4 minutes until the vegetables are crisp-tender. Remove the vegetables from the skillet and set them aside.

Cook the Steak: In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of vegetable oil. Add the marinated steak in a single layer (you may need to do this in batches) and cook for about 2-3 minutes per side until browned and cooked through. Stir in the minced garlic during the last minute of cooking.

Combine Ingredients: Once the steak is cooked, add the sautéed vegetables back into the skillet. Pour the sauce mixture over the steak and vegetables, stirring to coat everything evenly. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.

Finish and Serve: Drizzle sesame oil over the stir-fry if using. Taste and adjust seasoning as needed. Serve hot over cooked rice or noodles, garnished with chopped green onions and sesame seeds.
