Ingredients

1 pound ground chicken

1 cup fresh spinach, chopped

1/2 cup white cheddar cheese, shredded

1/4 cup breadcrumbs (preferably whole wheat)

1/4 cup green onions, finely chopped

1 clove garlic, minced

1 egg, beaten

1 teaspoon Dijon mustard

1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

Salt and pepper to taste

Olive oil, for cooking

4 whole wheat burger buns

Optional toppings: avocado slices, lettuce, tomato, or your favorite sauces

Instructions

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground chicken, chopped spinach, white cheddar cheese, breadcrumbs, green onions, minced garlic, beaten egg, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined but do not overwork the meat.

Divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape them into patties, ensuring they are evenly thick for uniform cooking.

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium heat and lightly coat it with olive oil to prevent sticking.

Cook the chicken patties for about 5-6 minutes on each side, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C) and the burgers are golden brown on the outside.

While the burgers are cooking, you can toast the whole wheat buns on the grill or in a toaster for added crunch.

Assemble your burgers by placing each patty on a bun and adding your desired toppings such as avocado slices, lettuce, and tomato.

Serve the burgers immediately while hot, and enjoy the creamy texture of the cheddar cheese combining with the freshness of spinach!
